Back on Thanksgiving weekend we had a lovely get-together with fellow ALTs in Yoshino-goon (hence the “Goons”giving). I made fudge cream pie and I was even able to find the ingredients to make a green bean casserole! I was so impressed with everyone’s cooking skills- the food was exceptionally delicious!
It was great spending time with friends like this- it felt a lot like home.
I attended a teaching conference on Thanksgiving day, but during my lunch break I was able to Skype with family back home during their dinner. I’ve been enjoying Japan so much, but for the first time I started to feel a stab of homesickness. I’m glad I got to talk to everyone, though!
